Wild Blackberry & Mountain Heather Gin

Tags:

Glendalough, Wild, Blackberry, Mountain Heather, Gin, Irish Gin

We make this Gin in August when the Wicklow hedgerows are full of blackberries, warm and ripened by the sun. The mountains around the distillery change colour from green to purple as the heather ripens, we pick the heather flowers when they are in full bloom and the pollen makes the mountain air smell like honey. We rest the wild blackberries and heather in our signature base gin. The natural sweetness of the fruit and the pollen make the gin just sweet enough, no sugar is added.
Tasting Notes from Celtic Whiskey Shop and Wines on the Green
Nose Fruity, notes of blackberry, juniper, orange.
Tasting Notes from the Producer
Aromas (without water) Fruity and full bodied, warm and a little spicy.
Fact Sheet
Volume 50cl
ABV 41%
Serving Suggestion
Serving Suggestion In a G&T, with an orange twist and a sprig of thyme, Poacher's Citrus Tonic works well. In sparkling wine. Or lovely just sipped neat, especially after a cold April day!
